    News from Liz Gordon

It is just a year ago that I arrived in Peel from Scotland to take up residence in the house flat as a team member at Thie Dy Vea. It has been a rich and rewarding experience, welcoming people from many places and all walks of life to this ‘house of life’.

I have come to realise the importance of having this place of retreat on the island, not only for those who come to stay here but for the many who attend the varied day events that take place.

I have also come to realise the crucial part that the volunteers, who roll up their sleeves and help with a variety of tasks, play in enabling the house to function.

For me personally it has been good to reconnect with old friends and make new friends here on the island. So when, in the late summer, I began to experience some health problems and felt it was time to ‘retire’ I decided to settle here on the island rather than return to Scotland.

So here I am in Port St Mary, where I hope to find rest and healing and discover God’s purposes for me in this next stage of my life. I shall of course continue to hold Thie Dy Vea in my prayers and would welcome your prayers at this time of readjustment.
